Companion Planting with Natives by Danielle Bell
January is a great time to think about landscape design. Washington County Master Gardeners have invited Danielle Bell to share her expertise in designing plantings that deliver color and drama throughout the growing season. She will highlight the ways we can pair up plants (especially native plants) with different bloom periods as well as varying textures and height. The key to having the most color in your yard is diversity. Using companion plants allows you to have twice as many plants in your yard which will reward you with twice as much color during the seasons. Adding native plants to our landscape improves habitat for pollinators, birds and mammals. Danielle will show us effective combinations of plants for pleasing color and interest in every stage of the growing season.
Danielle is the owner of landscape company Native Roots, LLC http://www.nativeroots-designs.com/ She graduated from UWM with degrees in Architectural Design and Conservation and Environmental Science.
The continuing COVID-19 pandemic prevents us from meeting in person. This meeting will be held on Zoom.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
