The Washington County Master Gardeners Association invites you to join us for our Thursday, April 13 presentation at 6:00PM over Zoom.
Our Speaker will be Judy Cardin and her topic is “The Buzz in your Garden: Attracting, Identifying, and Sustaining Bumble Bees”
She will include information on native bumble bees, in particular the endangered Rusty Patched, and how to create a habitat in your gardens to help them thrive.
Judy is a trainer and identification verifier with the WDNR Bumble Bee Brigade Citizen Science Program. She was trained and mentored on bumble bees and native plants by Susan Carpenter, UW Arboretum, where she also volunteers. She has photographed and identified thousands of bumble bees and flowers for research surveys. Judy is the administrator of the Wisconsin Bumble Bee Observers Facebook page and has authored “Rusty Patched Bumble Bee Floral Phenology” distributed by the USGS and WDNR https://online.flippingbook.com/view/810946527/
